We would like to extend our sincere New Year greetings to everyone during this special Spring Festival!
You may have planned or booked your trip to Mauritius in advance, and given the current situation in China, we believe you have doubts and concerns about travel. In this regard, the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority fully understands and empathizes.
Before you set off, you must also confirm with your booking channel whether the trip can still proceed normally.
We have prepared some information for your upcoming trip to Mauritius, which may be useful.
No confirmed cases of coronavirus have been found in Mauritius. The airport in Mauritius is equipped with thermal scanners and please cooperate with the health test.
According to the Communique from the Ministry of Health and Wellness , below is some latest precaution measures for entry:
1. All passengers irrespective of their Nationality, travelling from Wuhan City, Hubei Province of China or who have visited Wuhan during the last 14 days would be immediately admitted in the Quarantine Ward of the New Souillac Hospital for observation.
2. Passengers, irrespective of their Nationality, coming from other provinces of China and who are not showing any signs or symptoms suggestive of the infection at the airport (for example, fever or cough) would be allowed to leave the airport but placed under surveillance for a period of 14 days.
3.Passengers, irrespective of their Nationality, coming from other provinces of China and who are showing signs and symptoms of the infection upon arrival at the airport would be immediately admitted at the isolation ward of the New Souillac Hospital for further investigation and management as appropriate.
4. The Ministry of Health and Wellness has requested all tour operators in Mauritius not to accept any passengers from Wuhan, more so, as the Chinese Authorities are preventing Chinese citizens from entering or leaving Wuhan City.
5. The Ministry of Health and Wellness is closely monitoring the situation and will take such additional measures as may be necessary in light of evolution of the disease in China.
If you have a fever of more than 38 degrees Celsius, accompanied by symptoms of respiratory tract infections such as cough and dyspnea, and have been to Wuhan area or have been in close contact with patients with Wuhan Coronavirus in the past 14 days, we recommend that you temporarily delaying your trip to Mauritius and seek immediate medical help.
If you have symptoms after arriving in Mauritius, please report it to our local medical staff immediately and ask for help.
